Darrell Byrd • Banker, Volunteer

Local banker Darrell Byrd, a native and resident of Martinez, is a consummate community service volunteer. When he’s not at his day job at First Bank of Georgia, you’ll find him volunteering with the Children’s Medical Center, Southeastern Firefighters’ Burn Foundation, the Augusta Sports Council, the Civil Service Commission for Columbia County and Leadership Columbia County. His next charitable event is the 12th Annual Cares for Kids Radiothon, a fundraiser sponsored by 104.3 WBBQ and KISS 96.3 to raise money for the Children’s Medical Center on December, held in the lobby of the hospital on December 6-8.

I have visited six presidential libraries and plan to visit all of them.

If I could be anyone for a day, living or deceased…
It would be my friend Troy Hodges who died on June 3, 2011. I would like to say goodbye to him and let him know the impact his life made on so many.
