Happy Birthday Augusta Magazine! With this issue, we mark our 40th anniversary. What started as a quarterly publication with a literary flair has, over the years, transformed into a colorful, smart and sophisticated magazine known for its talented writers and photographers, and providing a reflection of what is best about living in our area.
As we look back, it’s fun to see familiar faces—past and present—review headlines of stories that have shaped the city and revisit places and events that are hallmarks of Augusta’s unique traditions and lifestyles.
Louise Shivers, Marion Vann, Beth Siciliano and Jerry Rogers are some of the many talented people who have put their touch on the magazine over the years. Pictured here is the skillful and accomplished team that currently brings you Augusta Magazine—many of whom have been with us for more than five years. Augusta Magazine and this team also have led the way in the development of other quality publications in the market, including Augusta Family Magazine, skirt! magazine and Aiken Homes and Lifestyles magazine.
Augusta Magazine is truly a testament to the community. Local businesses and subscribers were supportive of the publication in its early days, just as they are today. So if you’re reading our anniversary issue, please know that we couldn’t do it without you, our readers and advertisers. On behalf of the staff, we appreciate your support and look forward to bringing you more quality issues—in print, on the web or on iPad—in the upcoming years.
