When you win a major stakes race at Keeneland Race Track in Lexington, the owners receive a gold julep cup. After the eighth win they are awarded a gold tray to hold the julep cups. Campbell and Dogwood won their eighth this past spring. The tray will be officially presented to him at the Aiken Thoroughbred Hall of Fame at Hopelands Gardens, November 11 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Best Racehorse Name
Part owner and Willcox Inn regular John Adger named the three-year-old thoroughbred who won two stakes races this year, including the Grade II American Derby in Chicago in stakes record time. There are high hopes for this three-year-old whose pedigree includes Triple Crown winners Secretariat and Affirmed plus the great horses Storm Cat, Mr. Prospector and Bold Ruler.
